General Information
Real-time PCR assays for the identification of Shiga Toxin-producing Escherichia coli (STEC) using the ABI Prism 7500 FAST TaqMan instrument. The assay consist of two duplexes that are run simultaneously: The first detects the Shiga Toxin gene (stx1) and the intimin (eae) gene whilst the second detects stx2 and the rfbE gene associated with the O157 lipopolysaccharide antigen, which is specific for E. coli O157.
