Research and Development

The Public Health Laboratory is committed to improving patient outcomes and protecting public health. As part of achieving this the department has an active research and development programme. This enables our department to be at the forefront of diagnosis providing tests, which are sensitive, timely and cost-effective, and ensures that any protocols or procedures implemented are evidence-based. Staff from our department provides representation at local, regional and national research and development committees. We have published widely on a range of topics including:
