General Information

Anti-Xa are performed to monitor low molecular weight heparin in patients in high risk categories eg pregnancy. For further advice contact a Haematologist.

If the clinical need of the patient dictates an urgent Anti-Xa request please contact the laboratory on ext 40908

Notes

Result is only valid if sample is taken 4-6 hrs post dose of LMWH

Reference Range

Anti Xa Prophylactic Reference Range 0.1 - 0.3 IU/ml
Anti Xa (Tinzaparin) Therapeutic Range 0.6 - 1.0 IU/ml
