Patient Preparation

For urine NTX analysis, collect the second vioded urine of the day into a plain universal container, and protect the specimen from light.

Reference Range

Reference ranges provided by referral laboratory (July 2014).

NB: Results are expressed as nmol bone collagen equivalent (BCE)/mmol creatinine.

 

Adult males:                               15-40 nmol BCE/mmol
Adult females:
   pre-menopause 20-39 yrs    12-36 nmol BCE/mmol
   pre-menopause >39 yrs        14-38 nmol BCE/mmol      
   post-menopause                   15-57 nmol BCE/mmol
