General Information

Analysis of glycine in CSF and a paired plasma specimen is performed for the diagnosis of non-ketotic hyperglycinaemia. In this disorder, CSF glycine concentration is usually significantly higher than the normal upper limit (20 umol/L) and the ratio of CSF:plasma glycine is generally > 0.09 (normal < 0.04)

Patient Preparation

none specific

Notes
