Beta-2-Microglobulin (B2M)

General Information

The serum concentration of B2M is inversely related to the GFR, and a raised value is an early indicator or renal tubular damage. It is however, also increased in inflammatory conditions, haematological and lymphoid malignancies and a variety of non-malignant conditions e.g. AIDS.
