General Information

The Abbott Alinity HBsAg Qualitative II assay is a chemiluminescent microparticle immunoassay (CMIA) for the qualitative detection of hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) in human serum and plasma.
The Abbott Alinity HBsAg Qualitative II assay is intended to be used as an aid in the diagnosis of HBV infection and as a screening test for donated blood and plasma.

Patient Preparation

For taking blood samples we recommend that users follow either their local protocols or “The Royal Marsden Manual of Clinical Nursing Procedures”.

Red top blood (serum) samples

  • Sufficient blood for the test should be drawn into red topped (no additive) vacuum tubes.
